LIRR / Islip Macarthur Airport Shuttle
Getting from Long Island’s Islip MacArthur Airport to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) is quick and easy with the Colonial Express. Here’s all you need to know.
- One-way fare for the shuttle van is just $5.00 per person. Children under 8 years of age ride for free.
- The shuttle trip between Islip/MacArthur Airport and Ronkonkoma Train Station takes only 8-10 minutes. It is approximately 60 miles from the Islip Airport to Manhattan. Allow at least 1 1/2 hours train travel time. The fares for the LIRR vary according to your destination and whether you are traveling during peak travel times. - At the airport curbside, by baggage claim, look for the bus marked “Express service between Islip/MacArthur Airport and LIRR/Ronkonkoma Train Station”. At the Romkonkoma station the airport shuttle drop-offs and pickups are located on the North Platform. Exit down the stairs, following the platform signage straight out (in front of the Dunkin Donuts) to the curbside sign for the “Colonial Express”. The shuttle meets all trains from the first flight departure to the last arrival for Southwest Airlines.
On the LIRR system you can travel throughout Long Island and into Manhattan’s Penn Station.
